Official guidance from Cruise America, El Monte RV, Outdoorsy, and RVshare is compared for driver eligibility and documents, costs beyond the rental rate, deposits, insurance, returns, and cancellations. Rather than focusing on the daily rate, travelers should review the total trip cost and the contract for the specific RV.
St. Mary Campground in Glacier National Park is operating with reduced services, with no potable water or dump station available. Reservations remain required through October 31, and the high-elevation section of Going-to-the-Sun Road is seasonally closed.
North Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley is scheduled to end its 2026 season on October 26. Visitors should note the final overnight date, site-specific RV length limits, and the lack of hookups.
The Portland Expo Center will host an RV and camping equipment show Nov. 12–15. Adult admission is $17, senior admission is $15, and parking must be purchased separately.
NPS’s October 13 photograph records yellow and red foliage among green trees and RVs at Mathews Arm. The operating schedule checked October 20 listed a November 1 seasonal closing and a mix of reserved and first-come sites.

High surf and low-lying coastal flooding hazards remain forecast for Maryland’s Assateague coast. Separate from campground operating information, travelers should check same-day conditions for water activities, low access roads, and beach vehicle areas.
Rain and thunderstorms were forecast for Great Basin’s mid-elevations on October 22, with the snow level expected to fall overnight. Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive was closed at Mather Overlook, so visitors needed to separately verify high-elevation access and campground reservations.
Rain and thunderstorms were forecast near Fruita in Capitol Reef on October 21–22. Capitol Gorge Road was already listed as closed in the official October 18 status report, so travelers needed to check campground reservations and backcountry road access separately.
