Parts of Duval and St. Johns counties received 3–8 inches of rain in 24 hours, and the Coastal Flood Advisory for Duval County has been extended through October 10. Hanna Park campers should check access routes and on-site notices, accounting for additional rain and slow drainage during high tide.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for the central coast, including Morro Bay and Pismo Beach, from 10 a.m. October 7 through 8 p.m. October 8. Because Morro Bay State Park offers electric hookups at only some sites, campers should confirm their reserved site and midday plans.
As Tropical Storm Isaias strengthened, a hurricane watch was issued for the northern Gulf Coast, including Ocean Springs. Davis Bayou campers should review park notices and travel plans ahead of expected wind and storm surge beginning Friday.
The Central Texas RV Super Sale is scheduled for Oct. 9–11 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Parking is free, and admission for visitors 60 and older is $6; hours vary by day.
Death Valley’s Furnace Creek Campground enters its reservation season on October 15. Of its 136 sites, 18 have full hookups, and travelers should confirm their total vehicle length and nightly rate when booking.
Pleasant Valley Pit north of Bishop is a first-come, first-served BLM campground with RV and tent sites for $7 per night. It has no hookups, drinking water, or dump station, and BLM recommends RVs no longer than 30 feet.
St. Augustine’s coast was forecast to see 6–8-foot breaking waves from the evening of October 6 through early October 8. Campers at Anastasia should account for a high rip-current risk and possible high-tide flooding when planning beach activities and access routes.
A Heat Advisory for inland Bay Area communities, including Livermore, remains in effect through the night of October 8. At Del Valle, where generators are prohibited, campers should confirm electrical hookups and plan daytime activities in advance.
Gusts up to 50 mph were forecast for Wind Advisory areas including Greenville, Maine, on Oct. 6. Campers heading to Lily Bay should review travel timing and tree hazards, as well as the fall operating schedule that ends at noon on Oct. 15.
